Come with us on our Madeira East tour to an enchanting side of the island, full of pure nature & sun

Leaving Funchal and heading towards Pico do Arieiro, we’ll pass through several higher viewpoints where Funchal can be seen from above. Along the way, we’ll drive through the forest and sometimes take the regional paths known as Caminhos Reais, allowing you to enjoy the magic of nature.

Driving forward and reaching up to 1000m high, we’ll overlook pine trees and fir trees, the dominant vegetation that will transport you into a magical and invigorating scenery. We’ll then continue towards Casa de Abrigo do Poiso, already at 1400m high.

On the way to Pico do Arieiro, we’ll once again enjoy a very different natural scenery, representing part of the Natural Park and one of the military areas on the island. Arriving at Pico do Arieiro, you’ll have the privilege of witnessing some of the most astonishing views you’ll ever see.

We’ll carry on to the village of Ribeiro Frio, located within the Laurissilva Forest, where you’ll be able to enjoy the Balcões Levada walk.

Proceeding inland, we’ll find traces from other times, reflecting the hard life of the past. The experiences will continue throughout the tour, with the highlight being the surprise of our off-road track, which will lead us to the emblematic city of Santana, where we will stop for lunch.

The return to Funchal will be just as pleasant, taking us along the east coast of the island with a stop at the Guindaste viewpoint for unforgettable photos.

Afterwards, we’ll continue to the village of Porto da Cruz, where you will visit the famous rum factory “Engenho do Norte” and be invited to taste the local rum.

Ponta de São Lourenço will be our last stop of the day before arriving back in Funchal, where the views of both the ocean and the mountains will be the cherry on top of the cake.

Available all year around!
